In the inaugural game of the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC), Texas Super Kings locked horns with LA Knight Riders at home. The visitors, LA won the toss and elected to bowl first. In the second over, Lockie Ferguson removed TSK skipper Faf du Plessis for a golden duck. Lahiru Milantha (17) started well but was removed by USA international, Ali Khan.

At 43/2, the likes of Devon Conway and David Miller 77 runs for the third wicket. Conway scored 55 off 37 balls while Miller got 61 off 42 balls. After they got out, New Zealand international, Mitchell Santner (21) and former West Indies skipper Dwayne Bravo (16*) helped the team finish at 181/6. For the Knight Riders, Ali Khan and Lockie Ferguson took two wickets each. On the other hand, skipper Sunil Narine and Australia's Adam Zampa took one each.

In reply, the Purple Brigade had an awful start as they lost four wickets for 20 runs. The likes of Rusty Theron (former South Africa player), Gerald Coetzee, and Calvin Savage combined for four wickets. Despite this, the likes of USA international Jaskaran Malhotra and Andre Russell counter-attacked the Super Kings bowlers. They took the team to 56/4 in 5.1 overs before Malhotra was cleaned up by Coetzee.

Skipper Sunil Narine (15) tried his best but couldn't take the game deep alongside his TKR (Trinbago Knight Riders), ADKR (Abu Dhabi Knight Riders), and KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) mate, Russell. The latter scored a fifty but none of the others could play a helping hand to him. The team ended up getting all-out for 112 runs, losing the game by 69 runs.

Uncapped Pakistan player, Mohammad Mohsin, who plays for Peshawar Zalmi took four wickets. He was the one who took the last four wickets of the game.
