Dhoni announced his retirement on 15 August 2020 through a social media post which left everyone in shock.
Meanwhile, former Indian spinner and Dhoni’s ex-Chennai Super Kings mate Harbhajan Singh recently talked about Dhoni and said that there is no bigger cricketer than him in India because he has a massive fanbase. Interestingly, earlier, Harbhajan was often seen saying the same thing for other cricketers like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Sachin Tendulkar due to which is getting brutally trolled on social media.
"Mahendra Singh Dhoni is only one. There cannot be a bigger cricketer than him in India. Someone could have scored more runs than him and someone could have taken more wickets than him, but no one has a bigger fanbase than him," Harbhajan said on Star Sports.
"Dhoni has accepted this fandom to heart and he respects his teammates as well. He walks with so much love and emotion that anyone else would go mad, but Dhoni has carried this love and emotion in his heart for 15 years and he still hasn't changed at all."

Harbhajan also lauded CSK's allrounder Shivam Dube who is doing wonders in this season for the team in IPL 2023. The former spinner said that Dube has a wonderful hitting ability, he even described how Dube hit those huge sixes against any bowler. He also mentioned that the left-hander should get more opportunities in the upcoming matches which will benefit him and the team as well.
"Shivam Dube's hitting range is tremendous. Whenever the ball comes into his hitting arc, he dispatches it for a biggie. CSK banks a lot on players with such qualities. Shivam should continue to get opportunities to bat at the top," Harbhajan said.
