Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has got a hair transplant done before the Asia Cup 2023. His struggles with the receding hairline obviously always had a solution but for some reason. He kept delaying the procedure, but now ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup.

Rishabh Pant made fun of Shami's hair fall about 2 years back. Perhaps now Shami has taken Pant's words to heart and got a hair transplant done. The role of Shami in Asia Cup 2023 is considered to be vital. He is an important part of the fast bowling unit of Team India.

Overall, I felt really good because treatment is one thing: Mohammed Shami

Pant wished Mohammed Shami on his birthday in 2021 and wrote in a tweet, "Mohammad Shami bhai, both hair and age are passing fast. Happy Birthday." Apart from this, he also used funny emoji. Shami wrote in a funny reply to Pant's tweet, "Apna time aayega beta. No one can stop hair and age, but obesity is treated even today."

In a video uploaded on YouTube, the veteran fast bowler claimed, "Overall, I felt really good because treatment is one thing, but the behaviour of the staff and the treatment process – everything was very good and all of them were very supportive. Now, let’s observe what happens."

The 32-year-old had a visible receding hairline when he made his India debut back in 2013. He played his last match for India through the final of the World Test Championship played against Australia in June. After that, he was not a part of India in the series of all three formats played on the West Indies tour.

He has played 64 Test matches for Team India picking up 229 wickets. In ODIs, the pacer has taken 162 wickets with an economy rate of 5.61. At the same time, in 23 T20 matches, this bowler has taken 24 wickets with an economy rate of 8.94.

Team India will open their Asia Cup campaign against Pakistan on September 2nd in Pallekele. KL Rahul will miss the first two matches of the continental tournament.
