Recently, India has qualified for the final of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. They will play Sri Lanka for their eighth Asia Cup title. While the Lankan Lions have won six times and looking for their seventh, the game is expected to be in favor of the Men In Blue. Meanwhile, as Pakistan crashed out of the final race, they are now dropped to third in the ODI rankings.

Ahead of the tournament, the two-time winners reached the number-one ODI ranking for the second time. It happened to them for the first time in April this year. Now, India has reached the number two ranking in ODI cricket. On the other hand, they are now the number one side in Tests and T20I cricket.

Talking about the shortest format of the game, India has 264 rating points, compared to World Champions, England (261). In the 50-over format, the Men In Blue is only two ratings behind Australia (118). In Tests, Australia and India's rankings are the same i.e. 118 with the Test champions in the second spot. Meanwhile, talking about the Asian side, they will play their last Super Four game against Bangladesh.

The seven-time winners reported looking to Test their bench strength. Shreyas Iyer, who had a back spasm ahead of their Pakistan game in the Super Four round, has started doing the nets. He might play the game. Alongside him, Mohammed Shami might also get to play while the likes of Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah might get rested. Shardul Thakur might get another go while Prasidh Krishna also may get an opportunity.

Just like Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav also might get to play in place of KL Rahul. Ishan Kishan might get to keep wickets as well.
