Chennai Super Kings thrashed Mumbai Indians in the 12th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 on Saturday (April 8). However, a statement by Tushar Deshpande went viral on social media after the match. Tushar was quoted making rude remarks about Rohit Sharma and was also criticized by cricket fans on social media for this. Now, CSK fast bowler has come out to give clarification on this.

In the match between Chennai and Mumbai, CSK bowler Tushar Deshpande bowled Rohit Sharma. A statement with regards to the wicket had come to the fore on social media. Tushar was being quoted saying that 'It is very easy to take Rohit Sharma's wicket. He is not like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.'

Tushar has called this statement completely fake. In one of his Insta stories on Sunday night, he took screenshots of such news running on social media and wrote a caption to it. Tushar has also written in his clarification that,

"I did not, and would not, make any such demeaning statements," he added. "Stop spreading fake news."

I am sure Tushar will learn a lot more while playing: Ajinkya Rahane

Tushar Deshpande bowled brilliantly against Mumbai Indians. He first sent Rohit, who was batting explosively, to the pavilion and then dismissed Tim David, who was also looking dangerous, to prevent the MI from scoring big. Tushar took two wickets for 31 runs in three overs. Mumbai team could score only 157 runs, and in reply, Chennai achieved the target easily by losing three wickets.

Indian cricketer, Ajinkya Rahane, who made his debut for CSK against MI and played a destructive inning of 64 runs off just 27 balls, heaped praise on Deshpande's strong comeback and the way he clean-bowled Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma.

“Tushar has been bowling really well. He had a great season for Mumbai and even before this match , his comeback was really great. I am very happy for him. These are still early days for him and I am sure he will learn a lot more while playing. And when you are playing under Mahibhai, you learn something every time you are out in the middle," Rahane told mid-day.com in reply to a question.
