The first Test match, which will begin on July 12, will mark the beginning of the Indian team's tour of the West Indies. For this tour, the Indian players who will take part in the series have arrived in the West Indies on Friday. Vice-captain of the Test team Ajinkya Rahane revealed this by posting images on social media. 

Meanwhile, Indian team captain Rohit Sharma is still enjoying a vacation with his family in Paris. It is unclear when he will arrive in the West Indies. However, recently, his wife Ritika Sajdeh shared a beautiful picture on her Instagram story where Rohit can be seen reading a book with his daughter Samaira. Many fans have liked the picture while many have advised Rohit to start preparing for the Windies tour.

Shocking selections by Indian Cricket Board for Windies tour

India’s West Indies tour consists of 2-Tests, 3-ODIs and 5-T20Is series. The Indian Cricket Board has also announced the squad for Test and ODI series. However, the squad for the T20I series is yet to be announced. Many fans were left shocked after India’s veteran Test batter Cheteshwar Pujara was excluded from the squad. 

India will also compete in one practice match ahead of the series. Talking about head-to-head stats between both teams, West Indies and the subcontinental team have faced off 98 times, with India coming out on top 22 times. The hosts, on the other hand, have triumphed in 30 tests. India defeated the Windies by a score of 2-0 in the last Test series between the two teams, which took place in 2019.
