Madhya Pradesh and Royal Challengers Bangalore player, Rajat Patidar has been out of action ahead of the ongoing IPL 2023. Ahead of the tournament, he sustained a heel injury which ruled him out for half of the season at the time. However, on the sixth day of the ongoing tournament (April 4), Patidar was ruled out for the entire season.

Notably, they haven't announced his replacement although they have replaced injured David Willey and Reece Topley. The latter was replaced by South Africa's Wayne Parnell. On the other hand, Kedar Jadhav has replaced Willey who sustained a foot injury as he got hit by a yorker from Andre Russell from Kolkata Knight Riders last week. Talking about Topley, he was ruled due to a shoulder injury during the game against Mumbai Indians.

Meanwhile, the 2021-22 Ranji Trophy winner, Patidar has now posted an update on his recovery on Twitter. The tweet reads "Just wanted to give a quick update to all my supporters out there. I recently underwent surgery for an injury that has been troubling me for a while now, but I'm happy to say that it went well and I'm on the road to recovery! Thank you all for prayers ❀️.Your RP."

RCB has missed Rajat Patidar dearly

Meanwhile, the right-hander has been missed by the three-time finalists in the ongoing 16th season. In the years, 2021 and 2022 (last part of the tournament), he was batting at number three. Two years back, he became an answer to the team's search for a stable number three slot. However, during the 2022 mega auction, he went unsold.

Only when Luvnith Sisodia got injured, the MP player was signed as a replacement mid-season. In the eliminator game against Lucknow Super Giants, he scored his maiden IPL hundred. Ahead of the player auction for the ongoing season, Patidar was retained but hasn't been ab;e to play. The team has tried quite a few players at number three but nothing has worked.
