In the 58th match of the Indian Premier League 2023, Lucknow Super Giants beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets to stay alive in the race of playoffs. Meanwhile, an unwanted event stopped the game at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The SRH crowd allegedly threw nuts and boults at the dugout of the opposition team.
However, speaking about the incident LSG fielding coach Jonty Rhodes said that Crowd threw nuts and boults at Prerak Mankad, who was fielding near boundary ropes. Notably, a no-ball decision from the third umpire flared the controversy at the stadium which further led to attacking a player in the ground.
Rhodes quoted a tweet saying nut and boult threw at LSG dugout and said, "Not at the dugout, but at the players. They hit Prerak Mankad on the head while he was fielding at long-on. #noton" Meanwhile, LSG beat SRH by 7 wickets to keep themselves in the game. The young batter scored 64 runs off 45 balls with the help of seven boundaries and two sixes. His innings helped LSG to clinch an amazing victory in Hyderabad.
SRH batter Henrich Klaasen expressed disappointment over fans reaction
While speaking with a broadcaster in the mid-innings of the game SRH batter Henrich Klaasen expressed his disappointment over the decision of no ball and the way the crowd react to it. "Disappointed of the crowd, to be honest, that's not what you want. That also broke the momentum, not great umpiring either," Klaasen said.
However, a few hours later, IPL fined Klaasen for openly questioning Umpiring decisions. In a press release, IPL said, "Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Heinrich Klaasen has been fined 10 Percent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. Klaasen admitted to the Level 1 Offence under Article 2.7 which states the use of public criticism/inappropriate comment in the IPL’s Code of Conduct."
"Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants’ Amit Mishra has been reprimanded for breaching the IPL’s Code of Conduct. Mr Mishra admitted to level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of IPL’s Code of Conduct which states the abuse of equipment during the match. Mr Mishra accepted the sanction", it further added.
Here is how fans react to Jonty Rhodes' comments on the Hyderabad crowd:
That’s seriously very bad.. they forgot this is indian cricket league and I feel they are not true cricket fans

Unpopular opinion: If ticket prices are too low, you will have an unruly crowd.

What did the umpires do about that incident sir? Is there any action taken by them or by the ground staff on the set of people who were reason for this? This should not at all be encouraged and it sure need to be prevented from happening the next time for any cricketer. People…
