Mumbai Indians (MI) premium fast bowler Jofra Archer appeared unhappy when informed that he will be missing the 2023 Indian Premier League to undergo elbow surgery in Belgium. Archer underwent elbow surgery in Belgium amid the ongoing 16th season of the IPL, according to a recent story from The Telegraph.

The speedster busted the untrue rumors that he had quit the IPL and took to Twitter to slam the media. He wrote, “Putting out an article without knowing the facts & without my consent is crazy. Whoever the reporter is shame on you, an already worrying and troubling time for a player and you exploit it for your personal gain, it’s people like you that are the problem.”

Here's Jofra Archer's strongly worded Tweet on the Fake news:

However, the bowler has only appeared in two games this season and has taken just one wicket. He also gave up a lot of runs, giving up 75 runs in two games. Archer failed to pick up a wicket and cost MI dearly in their opening game of the year against Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB), which resulted in a loss for MI.

Brilliant performance by GT against MI

Archer's performance against Punjab Kings (PBKS) was likewise underwhelming as he only managed to take 1 wicket while giving up 42 runs at an economy rate of 10.50 in his 4 allotted overs. The bowlers of the five-time champion MI team were mercilessly beaten by the batters of the reigning champion Gujarat Titans (GT) as they scored 207 runs in 20 overs. Archer was not there for MI's most recent encounter against GT.

Cameron Green, the great all-arounder for MI, bowled two overs and gave up 39 runs at a 19.50 economy rate. Mohammed Shami and Pandya responded by producing so much swing that it appeared GT had been given a different pitch to bowl on. Rohit Sharma was knocked out cheaply, and MI was unable to get going in the powerplay. The two Afghan spinners Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad then entered the game, giving the opposition a lot of trouble in the middle overs while restricting MI to just 152.
