Rajasthan Royals' opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has made a record in the history of the IPL. He is batting like a video game against Kolkata Knight Riders of the ongoing 2023 season. It all started in the first over, interestingly bowled by skipper Nitish Rana, who is a part-timer. This went horribly wrong for the KRR skipper as Jaiswal belted him for 26 runs.

The over started with two back-to-back sixes. The first was mistimed by the former India U19 player towards long-on. However, the second six was hit towards the fine leg with Rana straying down the leg side. This was a much better-timed shot. On the fourth ball of the over, Rana took a pause before delivering. However, there was no pause on Jaiswal's side as he dispatched it to the boundary.

On the next ball, the Mumbaikar, Jaiswal hit another four, and the over finished with 26 runs. In the next over, Jos Buttler got run out but that didn't deter Jaiswal at all. The latter kept going with his business. Also, the overthrow from Rana and a six from Jaiswal in the over made it worse for the fielding side. In the next over, he hit three fours and a single to make the record.

Yashasvi Jaiswal now has the record for the fastest fifty

Meanwhile, the uncapped India player has managed to break the record held by KL Rahul and Pat Cummins collectively. Apparently, five years back, the former scored a 14-ball fifty against Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals). That was Rahul's first year with the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings).

Last year, KKR player Pat Cummins, who is not playing this year, equaled the record against his former team, Mumbai Indians. In that game, he hit 35 runs against Daniel Sams. However, this record is now broken by Jaiswal with a 13-ball fifty. However, he hasn't stopped and is nearing his hundred after scoring 83 off 38 balls and counting.
