India’s third lunar space mission Chandrayaan-3 was successfully completed on Wednesday, August 23, as the Vikram Lander Module made the soft landing on the Moon's surface. Finally, the day has come, India’s Chandrayaan 3 has finally landed on the moon. It is indeed a historic day that will be engraved in the golden history of India. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)’s Chandrayaan 3 successful moon landing happened at 6:04 which marked history and also marked India’s dominance in space research operations.
India was successful in scripting history as the Chandrayaan 3 spacecraft landed on the south pole of the Moon which made the nation the first country to achieve this feat. This mission came days after the Russian probe Luna 25 had earlier crashed in a similar region.
The Chandrayaan 3 was earlier launched on July 14 after the previous Chandrayaan 2 crashed in achieving the hopeful Indian dreams. With the hope of a successful moon landing, the spacecraft was sent to the southern hemisphere of the Moon. Before India, only countries like Russia, the United States, and China had previously achieved a soft landing on the surface of the Moon.
Indian Cricketers celebrate this historic feat
After the landing was successful, various sports personalities as well as political personalities congratulated India on this historic feat. Similar to Chandrayaan-2, which failed during the final 20 minutes before landing, the real test of the mission started at the final leg of the landing. Vikram LM was able to use its onboard computers and logic to find a favorable site to make a smooth landing on the lunar surface thanks to ISRO's Automatic Landing Sequence (ALS), which was launched during the vital phase. The entire country was anxiously awaiting the successful landing and was thrown into a frenzy when it was accomplished.
In addition to it, the entire Indian cricketing community also took to Twitter and celebrated this historic moment by ISRO and were also seen proud as well as happy on this epic feat. The players like Gautam Gambhir, Dinesh Karthik, Virender Sehwag, Ishant Sharma, Hardik Pandya and others reacted to this moment.
