Bollywood actress Kiara Advani excited to perform in opening ceremony of inaugural Women's T20 League

Kiara Advani couldn’t control her excitement to perform in the ceremony and shared it on her Instagram story.

The opening ceremony of the first season of the Women's T20 League will take place on March 4. After the ceremony, Mumbai and Gujarat will face each other in the opening match. The Indian cricket Board decided to organise a glamorous and star-studded program before the match on the first day of the tournament. Many Bollywood star actresses and singers will be seen in this ceremony.

The board has invited Bollywood stars, Kiara Advani, and Kriti Sanon as well as Punjabi singer AP Dhillon to perform at the grand opening ceremony of the league. Kiara had worked in MS Dhoni’s biopic, she played Dhoni’s wife role in the movie, however, the star actress was in the headlines as she recently got married to Bollywood actor Siddharth Malhotra. She couldn’t control her excitement to perform in the ceremony and shared it on her Instagram story and wrote, "Excited to cheer on our women in Blue! Super stoked to perform at the opening ceremony #WPL.”

Smriti Mandhana became the most expensive player in the league

The players' auction for the first season of the tournament took place on 13 February. Out of the total 448 players, who landed in the auction, only 87 players got bids. At the same time, five franchises, Mumbai, Delhi, UP, Gujarat, and Bangalore together spent Rs 59.50 crore to buy the star cricketers. Gujarat, Delhi, and Bangalore bought a maximum of 18-18 players, whereas, Mumbai bought 17 players and UP bought 16 players.

More than 160 foreign players entered the auction, out of which only 30 players got a bid. At the same time, more than 250 Indian players entered the auction. Of these, 57 Indian players were sold in the auction. Out of these, four players were bought by the franchisee between Rs 2 crore and Rs 3 crore, and three players for more than Rs 3 crore. Smriti Mandhana became the most expensive player in the auction as she was sold at a whopping INR 3.40 crore to Bangalore. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 pm, while entry into the stadium will begin at 4 pm.
