Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) clashed against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Saturday, April 15 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. RCB started their IPL 2023 campaign with a promising victory over MI by 8 wickets. However, in their next two matches, they had to suffer embarrassing losses against KKR and LSG respectively.

Meanwhile, RCB's finisher Dinesh Karthik, who is struggling a lot these days, registered a golden duck in the 15th over. His lean patch continues, he generally waits a couple of balls before going for the big shots, even when he comes later on in the innings. Today he had the chance to build, but he's gone without scoring. Kuldeep Yadav bowled a half-tracker on his second delivery of the over and Karthik decided to hit a six but he only found a fielder.

Talking about the first innings, asked to bat first, former RCB captain Virat Kohli provided an electric start to as he smashed two boundaries in the very first over of the innings. He carried the momentum throughout the powerplay, however skipper Faf du Plessis couldn't contribute much and got out after scoring 22 runs.

Kohli smashed his third half-century of the season and was looking to score big, however, he got out as he hit a juicy full toss for a six but couldn't get much elevation to clear the ground. Later, star allrounder Glenn Maxwell and Mahipal Lomror tried to run the scoreboard and were even getting success to do that but both got removed later and their departure brought a drastic change in RCB's run rate as they ended up scoring only 174 runs even after getting a wonderful start.

Kuldeep Yadav was the best bowler for DC as he picked up 2 wickets and conceded only 23 runs in his 4 overs quota. The experienced leg spinner talked about this in the post-inning presentation.

"The wicket was on the slower side, so I tried to hit the right areas and right lengths. I threw a few wide balls against Virat Bhai. He (Maxwell) was going really well, I believed in myself, so I got him out, and the next ball even got DK (Karthik) out, pulling the game back in our favor. Just trying to bowl in the right areas, if you do that, you'll get wickets."
