Former legendary Indian skipper MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on 15 August 2020. On the same day in the evening, Suresh Raina also said goodbye to cricket. After that, he played the Indian T20 League with Dhoni for some time.

Raina has also stopped playing the richest league in the world as he was unsold in the 2022 mega auction. However, Dhoni will again be seen leading the Chennai-based franchise in the upcoming 16th edition of the cash-rich league.

When Chennai didn’t bid for Raina in the mega auction, it was expected that Raina will make distance from Dhoni but that didn’t happen and, in fact, he was seen continously praising MS Dhoni. Meanwhile, Raina, recently, talked about Dhoni again and heaped praise on him and said that Dhoni is a bowler's captain.

"Bowlers captain hota hai ek. Hum sab sath mein khele hai. He brings a lot of positivity. Unse bada koi player nahi aaya abhi tak. World ke best finisher hai vo. Aur jo performance nikalte hein naa player ke andar se, toh voh unki ek bahut khoobsurat cheej hai (We’ve all played together. He was a bowler's captain and brings a lot of positivity. There’s no bigger player than him. He’s the world’s best finisher. And the way he gets the best out of any player, it’s the most beautiful thing about him)," Raina said on JIO Cinema.

'Dhoni ke paas wo ability thi ki…': Parthiv Patel

Former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel was also there. He took over from Raina and said that Dhoni knew every player’s ability and knew how to bring 100% from the players. Dhoni has won 123 matches out of 210 matches he captained.

"I think jo sabse bada advantage jo mujhe lagti hai uska ki mera 100% alag ho skta hai, Suresh ka 100% alag ho skta hai. Sabka 100% alag ho sakta hai. Lekin Dhoni ke paas vo ability thi ki vo aapka vo 100% nikalwa sakta tha. I think mere khayal se vo sabse best quality thi. (I think the biggest advantage that Dhoni had was that he knew everybody will have a different 100%, but he has that ability which can bring out your 100%, and that was the biggest quality.)"
