India A faces Pakistan A in the finals of the Emerging Asia Cup 2023 at R Premsanda Stadium in Colombo. After winning the toss, India skipper Yash Dhull opted to bowl first. His decision didn't go well with the team, as Pakistan's openers added 121 runs for the first wicket. Openers Saim Ayub and Shahibzyada Farhan scored half-centuries and helped Pakistan A get off to an impressive start.

In his innings, Ayub scored 59 runs off 51 balls with the help of seven fours and two sixes. Meanwhile, Farhan scored 65 runs off 62 balls with the help of four fours and as many sixes. Manav Suthar dismissed Ayub and broke the partnership. His departure helped India make a comeback in the game. However, Assam spinner Riyan Parag stole all the limelight when he took two wickets in two balls to tighten India A's grip on the game.

In the 28th over of the game, Riyan dismissed Omair Yousuf and Qasim Akram in two back-to-back deliveries. Their dismissal exposed Pakistan's middle order and helped India exploit it. Parag's performance has pleased fans on social media, as he is often criticised for his poor performances in the Indian Premier League and other platforms.

Will India be able to win the Emerging Asia Cup in 2023?

Notably, India A will have to bat really well under pressure to win the prestigious tournament. Lastly, India won this series under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav in 2013. The team will hope to continue its dominance in the continental tournament. It's worth noting that in the semifinals of the league, India A beat Bangladesh A by 51 runs in a nail-biting thriller.

After scoring a below-par 211 runs in the high-octane game, India A bowled out Bangladesh A for just 160 runs. Skipper Yash Dhull and pacer Nishant Sindhu shined with the bat and ball, respectively. Dhull scored a magnificent half-century, while Sindhu clocked five wickets in the game.
