In the era of batters dominating the cricketing world, some bowlers have been match-winners for the side but did not get the same headline as the batters get nowadays. These players have emerged as the silent match winners of their respective teams, whether in Test matches, One Day Internationals (ODIs), or the T20 format as well.

In this generation being a bowler is hard as they do not have anything to get from the pitch as the pitches are nowadays made for the batters and most of them are being batting paradise. With a lethal pace with strategic intelligence, bamboozled the opposition and made an evident impression on the international scene.

The batters get advantages from shorter boundary ropes to bigger bats and some of the fans believe that only the batters win the game for the teams. In the article, we will be looking at the bowlers who are most valuable for their teams across formats.

Here are the 5 current most valuable bowlers across formats

5. Josh Hazelwood

Josh Hazelwood has been one of the consistent bowlers in test match cricket. Hazelwood has been the most valuable and reliable pacer across all formats of international cricket. His ability to bowl on a consistent length makes him a perfect bowler in white-ball cricket as well. The 32-year-old pacer is nearing 250 wickets in the longest format of the game as he has 242 wickets behind his name. His economy in the white-ball format is also good in ODIs he has an economy of less than 5 and in T20I he has less than 8 economy though he bowls with the new ball in the powerplay. He uses his height to great effect and bowls nasty lines & lengths which are difficult for batters to face.

4. Keshav Maharaj

Keshav Maharaj is another bowler who does not get the value he should get across all formats of the game. The left-arm orthodox spinner. In recent times has emerged as a pivotal player in the domain of international cricket with his crafty spin and all-round skills, as he adds an extra batting option towards the end of the order. In the longest format of the game, he has shown some ability to spin the ball and get wickets on crucial occasions as well. He has cemented his position, in the recently concluded ODI World Cup 2023 he bowled brilliantly in the subcontinent pitches of India.

3. Trent Boult

Trent Boult, the New Zealand seamer has been one of the most valuable assets for the side. The commentators also believe if the pacer is not able to find anything from the wicket and the ball is not swinging, then there is nothing to offer for the bowlers on the pitch. The Kiwi pacer can ball with the new ball and in the death as well and has been a consistent wicket-taker for his side across all formats of the game. He has picked 317 wickets in 78 matches in the longest format of the game.

2. Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc is currently one of the best bowlers of this generation. The left-arm pacer has been another asset for the Kangaroos. He has been the current highest wicket-taker in the ODI World Cup history among the active players. He has been the highest wicket-taker of 2015 as well as the 2019 WC. He also has the most five-wicket hauls in the history of ODI cricket. His ability to swing the ball and bowl breathtaking yorkers has made him the deadliest bowler of this generation.

1. Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah is one of the most skilful bowlers in the current generation of the cricketing world. Bumrah first came into the light when Mumbai Indians (MI), picked him in the 2013 edition where his unique bowling action was the first to be noticed. He has been a consistent performer across all formats. But his injury has been a problem for the side, and his career with that has been shortened as well. He has picked 149 wickets in 89 ODIs.
