The Indian Premier League (IPL) auction is going to commence in less than a months. The auction is scheduled to take place in Dubai on December 19. This is the first time that the auction will be held outside the country, the retention deadline has ended but the trade window is still open till December 12, the teams still have time to change and add players to their squads. 

During the end of the team retention window, 85 players were released from the various IPL team franchises, while hundreds of additional players from India and overseas will be going under the hammer for the mini-auction. Except that, players who have been released by their respective teams will be added to the auction pool.

Despite the fact that this is a mini-auction, there could be over 300 players on the final list for the IPL 2024 sale. According to the latest rumours, a total of 590 players have been shortlisted for the auction with the list expected to be cut down just days before the auction. 5. Ripal Patel 

Ripal Patel

Ripal Patel was picked by Delhi Capitals (DC) in the IPL auction ahead of the 2021 season. He made his debut in the IPL, against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He played for DC for two years and he has been released by the franchise once again. Several teams can go for him as the middle-order batter has a good strike rate while batting in first-class cricket he has a strike rate of 145.11. He can go big under the hammer as several teams would like to invest in the batter. 

4. Priyam Garg

Priyam Garg

Priyam Garg made his first-class debut for Uttar Pradesh in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy on 1 November 2018. Garg was the captain of India's squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. They ended as runners-up against Bangladesh. In the 2022 auction, he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The batter was picked by DC and he played only two games for the franchise in the previous edition. 

3. Kartik Tyagi

Kartik Tyagi

Kartik Tyagi was a key member of India’s Under 19 World Cup 2020. He picked up 11 wickets in the tournament. The pacer was picked by Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 2020 edition. He came into the light when the bowler defended four runs in the last over against Punjab Kings (PBKS). Tyagi conceded just one run in that over winning the game for his side. He was picked by the SRH  in the auction for 2022 and was released ahead of the 2024 auction as well. But the pacer can go for big money in the auction. 

2. Hrithik Shokeen

Hrithik Shokeen, the young off-spinner was picked up by Mumbai Indians (MI) for his base price of 20 lakhs. He impressed everyone with his brilliant bowling for India U19. The 23-year-old spinner was picked to boost MI's spin bowling department but he failed to do so. He picked up only five wickets at a poor economy of 9.23 and an average of 62.8. But he is still young and several teams can invest in him.

Shahrukh Khan is a destructive middle-order batter who has been a good hitter of the ball at the end of the innings. He made his List-A career debut in the year 2013-14. He has played in 33 matches scoring 737 and has a decent batting average of 43.35. He was bought by PBKS in the 2021 auction. But after two years with the franchise he has been released, but the teams would like to have a power hitter like him at the end.
