India won an iconic win against the South Africa in the 2nd Test, at Cape Town on Thursday. But they lost their top spot in the Test rankings despite their win against the Raibow nation. Australia have become the No.1 Test side after their superb display in the series against Pakistan they have already won the series 2-0 and are looking to clean sweep the Men in Green. 

The Proteas after winning the first test comfortably by an innings and 32 runs, Rohit Sharma's side made a brilliant comeback in the 2nd and final test match of the series. They bowled the hosts out for 55 runs in the first innings and had a lead of 98 runs and then the Proteas set a target of 79 runs, the visitors chased down with 7 wickets in hand. 

Aussies are in red-hot form in the season as they won the World Test Championship (WTC), ODI World Cup 2023 and now they have been dominating Pakistan and now they have become the No.1 Test side.

With India drawing their the two-Test series against South Africa 1-1 and Australia recording two wins in as many matches against Pakistan, the Pat Cummins-led side now top the Test rankings. 

"It's the latest feat in a year full of them for Australia, alongside their Cricket Governing Body World Test Championship Final victory and their Cricket Governing Body Men's Cricket World Cup triumph. The ongoing third Test between Australia and Pakistan and the upcoming five-match Test series between India and England will likely lead to further activity in the Test Team Rankings, with the top spot on the line alongside crucial Cricket Governing Body World Test Championship points."
