CSK CEO throws light on MS Dhoni's retirment

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction has recently concluded in Dubai's CocaCola arena. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) picked some brilliant players at a cheaper price with the likes of Rachin Ravindra, Shardul Thakur and Mustafizur Rahman. They bought some big buys as well, with Daryl Mitchell for 14.5 crores INR and young uncapped batter Sameer Rizvi for 8.40 INR. The five-time champions are looking formidable on paper and will try to win the trophy for the sixth time. 

Ahead of the season CSK captain MS Dhoni who had knee surgery is still recovering from the particular thing. The fans still thinking about whether he will be continuing his career even after the end of the upcoming season. The 42-year-old batter retired from international cricket in the year 2020 but continues to play franchise cricket. The wicket-keeper batter is going through rehab and he is expected to be a match-fit well ahead of IPL 2024.

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has dropped a comment about the Jharkhand-born batter, he believes that if Dhoni calls it to end then it is going to be his last edition.

Viswanathan said, "That I do not know. See, as far as the captain is concerned, he will answer you directly. He does not tell us what he is going to do. He is doing well now. He has started his rehab. He started working in the gym. And, probably in another 10 days, he'll start working in the nets also." 

Previously he talked about trading the player, "We don’t trade players as a principle and we also don’t have players to trade with Mumbai Indians. We have not approached them and we don’t intend to either." As there were speculations of Rohit Sharma joining the CSK side after the batter was removed from the captaincy role of Mumbai Indians (MI). 

There has been much controversy over Hardik Pandya being the captain of the side. However, the star all-rounder is doubtful for the auction.
