Indian Cricket is set for yet another busy year of cricketing action. 2024 promises to be a huge year for the Indian team and its fans as some major cricketing tournaments are set to take place.

Rohit Sharma and his team are in South Africa currently getting ready to play the final Test in Cape Town. After their return to India, there is a long home season with T20I and Test Cricket set to take center stage.

The biggest names in the world will vie for the prestigious 2024 T20 World Cup title in June. Team India will want to break their Global Title Drought by trying to win the tournament which is to be held in the West Indies and the USA.

Jam Packed Cricket Calendar Ahead –

Team India will begin their 2024 with the final test match in Cape Town. Rohit Sharma will hope to begin the year with a win after their dismal showing in Centurion. After the South African tour, Afghanistan will tour India for a short T20I series. 

Mohali, Indore, and Bengaluru are the venues for the three-match T20I series which begins on the 11th of January. White ball cricket will take a break as Test Cricket is set to dominate proceedings for at least 6 weeks.

Ben Stokes and England arrive in India for a huge 5-match Test Series which begins on the 25th of January in Hyderabad. Visakhapatnam. Rajkot and Ranchi will play hosts to the visiting England side for the next three tests. Dharamshala will host the final Test which begins on the 7th of March.

It has been announced that the 22nd of March is likely to see the commencement of the IPL 2024 season. After the long and tiring IPL season, it is time for more T20 action as the 2024 T20 World Cup begins. West Indies and the United States of America will witness some of the biggest cricket stars begin playing in the tournament on the 4th of June.

Team India will then fly down to Sri Lanka in July for a short 3-match T20I and ODI Series. After the Sri Lankan series, Bangladesh will tour India in September for a shot 2-match Test series. Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid will hope to be in good stead as far as the WTC table is concerned.

October will witness the Kiwis visit India for a three-match Test series. Kane Williamson and the rest of the Kiwi stars will attempt to win a series in India for the first time. It is expected to be an amazing series as the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will show their mettle against the Black Caps.

2024 will end with the huge Border-Gavaskar Trophy being contested. Team India will tour Australia for a five-match-test series in what is going to be Rohit and Kohli’s final series down under. This will be the first time since 1992 that Australia and India would have played a five-match Test series against each other.
