Former Pakistani skipper Shoaib Malik is in the eye of the storm again. Just last weekend, the 41-year-old had married for the third time. After his marriage, the all-rounder is in Bangladesh to play in the Bangladesh Premier League.

Shoaib Malik is currently playing for the Fortune Barishal vs the Khulna Tigers. The game on Monday saw Shoaib Malik bowl just a single over and give away 18 runs. It was even more baffling because the Pakistani player bowled three no-balls in the over.

Batting first Barishal Fortunes scored 187 runs on the board. In reply, Khulna Tigers won the game with ease as they chased down the target with two overs to spare. Skipper Anamul Haque was given the man of the match for his efforts.

Khulna Tigers prevail over Barishal Fortunes as Shoaib Malik baffles fans

Anamul Haque and Evin Lewis gave the Khulna Tigers a great start. Shoaib Malik was given the fourth over of the innings by skipper Tamim Iqbal. The first ball of the over was hit for a single and Evin Lewis then hit the second ball for a four. The third ball yielded no runs as Shoaib Malik seemed to get control over proceedings.

The fourth ball was a huge no-ball which brought up a free hit that Evin Lewis couldn’t take advantage of. After yet another dot ball, the final ball of the over-produced the second no-ball of the over. The resulting free hit saw Lewis hit it for a four with a third no-ball being bowled by Malik.

With the third free hit of the over-give, Lewis this time didn’t waste his chance and hit it for a six. A total of 18 runs were scored in the over and that was the end of the day for Malik with the ball in hand. What made it even worse was that each of the no-balls was well over the bowling crease with Tamim Iqbal at his wit's end.

Earlier in the day, Mushfiqur Rahim’s 68 and Tamim Iqbal’s 40 helped Fortune Barishal reach 187. In reply Anamul Haque and Evin Lewis with 63 and 53 put the team on the course to an easy win. Afif Hossain with 41 and Shai Hope with 25 not out saw Khulna Tigers take an easy win.
