In the second innings, the Aussies were at a good stage at 206/4, but they kept on losing wickets since then Tahila McGrath scored 73 runs, but they lost six wickets for 55 runs. With Sneh Rana picking up 4 wickets in the last day.  Shafali Verma was the first one to be dismissed in the run chase with Mandhana and Richa building a partnership of 51 runs and Jemimah Rodrigues's finishing touch of 12 runs helped India win their first game against the Aussies in the longest format of the game.

After the game, Kaur said, "It is a reward for the hard work over the years. Credit to the coaches. We just try to keep it simple. We just thought if we can play positive cricket, that is why we put Richa up the order. We just wanted to keep putting the pressure. We just had to stay in the moment. We tried our best to get them early in the second innings, but that partnership in the middle did not let us. But we kept our faith in our bowling and it worked."
