Former India skipper praises Rahul Dravid

Rahul Dravid has extended the contract with team India as the head coach, who will remain in the hot seat till the T20 World Cup 2024 which is scheduled to take place in West Indies and the USA. The Men in Blue performed exceptionally well in the ODI World Cup 2023, during his tenure. There were speculations that VVS Laxman would be the one who would be replacing him as the star India batter has been managing the second-string and India A squad.

Former India skipper Gautam Gambhir praised the Indian Cricket Board and Dravid for extending the contract of the coach. He believes it is promising news for the national side as there is a T20 World Cup in 2024. The contract of the support staff (Senior Men) was extended on Wednesday. Dravid's second spell as head coach with Team India will begin on December 10 in South Africa, with three ODIs, two T20Is, and two Tests. The Test will begin on December 26th. Then comes a five-match Test series against England at home before the T20 World Cup in the West Indies/USA in June.

Gauti expects that the domination and aggressive style of cricket will be continued. He believes the T20 World Cup will be more challenging and wishes that they can deliver well in the mega tournament.

It's a good thing: Gautam Gambhir

Gambhir while speaking with ANI stated, "It's a good thing because the T20 World Cup is around the corner and you don't want to change the entire support staff, and it is good that Rahul has accepted it. Hopefully, we can continue to dominate and play good cricket, what India has done for a long period of time. The T20 format is different and challenging and hopefully, Rahul and the support staff can deliver. Congratulations to them."

Batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T Dilip, and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey will continue their stint with Team India as the Indian Cricket Board also extended contracts of the support staff of Team India.
