In a recent match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024, Haris Rauf, the talented fast bowler from Lahore Qalandars, encountered a huge setback as they lost their premier bowler Haris Rauf due to a dislocated shoulder. The injury has now put a huge question mark on his availability for the T20 World Cup to be held in June this year.
Haris Rauf was looking to find his mojo back
During the intense clash at Gaddafi Stadium, Haris Rauf exhibited his prowess not just with the ball but also on the field. In a crucial moment, while stationed at long-off, he managed to take a spectacular catch to dismiss Hasan Ali.
However, the joyous moment quickly turned sour as Rauf in the attempt to secure the catch, landed awkwardly which resulted in a shoulder injury. Haris Rauf was taken out of the field after the incident and he was later seen with an elastic bandage on his right shoulder. Rauf was taken for scans after the match which confirmed that the express pacer had dislocated his shoulder.
Haris Rauf performed quite well in that game as he gave only 22 runs in his quota of 4 overs and even managed to take the wicket of Shoaib Malik who was threatening to take the match away from Lahore Qalandars with his 32 ball 39 runs knock. Lahore Qalandars eventually lost the match by 2 wickets and Rauf's efforts went in vain.
Big jolt to Pakistan’s World Cup hopes
With the upcoming T20 World Cup around in sight, the question arises whether Rauf will be able to recover in time to represent Pakistan. His injury casts a shadow of uncertainty over his participation, leaving fans and team management anxious about his fitness.
Pakistan already suffered quite a lot in the recently held ODI World Cup Cup last year where they weren't able to avail the services of pacer Naseem Shah due to a shoulder injury. Pakistan fans would like to go with their full-strength pace attack in the T20 World Cup as T20 is their strongest suit and would like to lift the cup this year.
