Lucknow Super Giants were one of the two debutants ahead of the IPL 2022 season. KL Rahul and his team have played some impressive cricket in their short stint in the league so far.

Ahead of the IPL Auction 2024 season on 19th December in Dubai, Lucknow Super Giants are gearing up for the mega event. The franchise have already made some smart moves during the trade window.

Romario Shepherd was traded to Mumbai Indians much earlier in the window. Avesh Khan was acquired and sent to Rajasthan Royals in a swap deal to acquire Devdutt Padikkal. In this list let us take a closer look at the Released, Retained, and the purse remaining for LSG.

Retained Players –

Lucknow Super Giants have retained the core of their squad which has helped them qualify for the play-offs in the previous seasons. KL Rahul will continue to lead the side, and the likes of Quinton De Kock and Nicolas Pooran will continue to regale the Lucknow fans with their talents during the 2024 season. Deepak Hooda was a surprising choice as far as retention is concerned after his poor IPL 2023 season.

KL Rahul, Quinton De Kock, Nicolas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, Deepak Hooda, K. Gowtham, Krunal Pandya, Kyle Mayers, Marcus Stoinis, Prerak Mankad, Yudhivir Singh, Mark Wood, Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, Yash Thakur, Amit Mishra, and Naveen Ul Haq

Released players –

There were no huge surprises as far as the released player's list is concerned. Jaydev Unadkat the left-arm seam bowler will be in search of yet another franchise this year. Out of favour Indian batter Karun Nair has been released along with a host of other Indian talents.

Daniel Sams, Karun Nair, Jaydev Unadkat, Manan Vohra, Karan Sharma, Suryansh Shedge, Swapnil Singh, and Arpit Guleria.

Players Traded –

Romario Shepherd to Mumbai Indians

Avesh Khan to Rajasthan Royals

Devdutt Padikkal from Rajasthan Royals

Purse Left –

Lucknow Super Giants have INR 13.9 Crores left in the bank with five slots left to fill. KL Rahul and his side still have three overseas players slots and may look to buy a good all-rounder who can do the job and perhaps win the title this year.
