Kane Williamson names his favourite cricketer

New Zealand is currently facing Sri Lanka in the ODI World Cup 2023, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The Kiwis have a semi-final qualification in mind. Skipper Kane Williamson is one of the finest batters of this generation. The batter has missed most of the matches due to a thumb injury. He has a good relationship with the former India skipper Virat Kohli both the batters rate each other and complement as well. 

Ahead of the game against Sri Lanka, in an interview with Star Sports Williamson, has revealed his all-time favourite cricketer and his current favourite cricketer. He said, his role model was Sachin Tendulkar, when he started his cricket and his current favourite is Virat Kohli. The Kiwi skipper is a good friend of the former India skipper and have shown respect towards each other on and off the field. 

Kohli has been in exceptional form in the tournament, he has scored 543 runs in 8 innings and has an average of 108.60 with two hundreds to his name. Williamson on the other hand played a knock of 95 runs against Pakistan though the Blac Caps lost the match in the DLS method.

Kohli reached his 49th ODI century against South Africa on his 35th birthday and tied with Sachin Tendulkar's record. The batter is the best white-ball cricketer of this generation and has broken some of the records. He also is the first batter to score 1000 runs in a calendar year, 8 times and surpassed Tendulkar's record who scored it seven times. The 35-year-old batter will be eyeing to score his 50th ODI century on Sunday, November 12 at his Indian Premier League (IPL) home ground M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru against the Netherlands. 

The Kiwis won the toss and elected to field first with Lankan batting again struggling to get going. They are close to being bowled out under 150 runs. The Balck Caps would like to bundle them out as soon as possible and chase the run early.
