Former England skipper Kevin Pietersen has been getting called out by the Indian fans recently. The 42-year-old has made some outlandish claims during the first two Test matches between India and England.
During the Visakhapatnam Test, Pietersen was in the line of fire again.'KP' as he is fondly called tried to mock Indian legendary skipper MS Dhoni. Zaheer Khan though didn’t take it lightly as he came up with a mouth-shutting reply.
The two players were involved in a huge on-field verbal altercation during the 2007 Trent Bridge Test. The incident is called the ‘Jelly Bean incident’ as Zaheer could be seen angrily gesturing towards Pietersen.
Zaheer Khan’s reply stuns Kevin Pietersen –
Visakhapatnam saw India and England trade blows with the bat and ball on the field. Off the field too, former stars Pietersen and Zaheer got into the spirit of the series. Kevin Pietersen during the chat with the host broadcaster was speaking about his bowling.
The former England skipper said, “You know who else have I got in my pocket here? The great Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Right here next to Kamran Akmal”. MS Dhoni was dismissed by Kevin Pietersen for 92 during the Oval Test of 2007.
Zaheer Khan calmly replied, “You, I met Yuvraj Singh recently, he was talking about Kevin Pietersen being in his pocket”. The reply seemed to stun KP for a while as he was seen at a loss for words.
Yuvraj and Pietersen have exchanged barbs on social media after Pietersen called Yuvraj a ‘Piechucker’. Once he dismissed Pietersen with his bowling it didn’t take Yuvraj long to have a go at his rival.
The final word though belonged to Kevin Pietersen and it wasn’t a happy one. “Yeah, I knew it. Knew you were going to say that”. This brought out a chuckle from Zaheer Khan and the presenter as KP tried to brave a smile.
During the IPL 2017 game between Pune and Mumbai, Kevin Pietersen was on commentary. He asked Manoj Tiwary to pass on a message to MS Dhoni about golfing. The ever-witty MSD took the microphone and said "You are still my first test wicket" to elicit a huge laughter in the commentary box.
