Pat Cummins bowled an inspired spell on day two during the final session of play against Pakistan in Melbourne. Babar Azam who has been compared to Virat Kohli by his fans saw himself scoring just 1 run. The Australian skipper bowled a peach of a ball to get rid of the former Pakistani skipper to huge applause from the home fans.

Earlier in the day Australia were bowled out for 318 runs losing seven wickets thanks to Pakistani bowlers inspired spell. Shan Masood and his side came into the game on the back of the 360-run loss in the first Test in Perth.

The loss in the previous game saw Pakistan lose their top spot in the World Test Championships table. Defending champions Australia on the other hand are 5th in the table currently. A win in Melbourne will propel them towards the top of the table which is being led by India.

Babar Azam is dismissed cheaply yet again

Pat Cummins was breathing fire and bowling with pace when Babar Azam came in to bat. The Australian skipper had just dismissed opener Abdullah Shafique for 62 by taking a brilliant return catch.

The MCG crowd let out a huge roar as the former Pakistan skipper made his way to the ground. If the Pakistani fans had hoped to see their former skipper score runs to bail his team out of trouble they were left disappointed. The 29-year-old was beaten for pace and saw his stumps take a beating as the Australian players celebrated a huge wicket. Babar Azam was out for just 1 run after playing 7 balls during an inspired spell by Cummins.

Nathan Lyon got the first wicket of the day when he had Imam Ul Haq out for 10. Opening batter Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood then added 90 runs for the 2nd wicket to bring Pakistan back into the contest. The Pakistani skipper suffered a brain fade when he tried to hit Lyon out of the ground only to be caught by Mitchell Marsh for 54.
