Mohammad Hafeez has been sacked from the director role of the Pakistan Cricket Team. The former captain has been known for his strict discipline on and off the field and so he was named as 'The Professor'. During his three-month tenure with the team, he made sure the fitness level and discipline in the team were serious. But after his dismissal during a talk show, the batter dropped startling comments about the team's former coach Mickey Arthur and Babar Azam.

Hafeez has claimed that both the former captain and coach had stopped fitness tests of players in 2023. Under Babar and Arthur, Pakistan performed poorly in the 2023 Asia Cup and World Cup, and after that the management was changed fully but their fortunes did not change as they lost series against Australia and New Zealand.

Hafeez also stated that some of the players were not even fit to complete two-kilometre trial runs which had implications on the team's performance the team used to be poor in the field missing catches and their efforts were also not watchful as well.

I also asked the trainer about the fitness of the players: Mohammad Hafeez

Hafeez said on A Sports, "When we went to Australia, I told the players to take care of their fitness levels. I also asked the trainer about the fitness of the players. He told me a shocking thing that six months ago captain (Babar Azam) and Director of Cricket (Mickey Arthur) told me to stop checking the players on the fitness parameters and let them play the way they want."

"When the fat levels of the players were checked, the skin fold of all of them was high - for most players, it was 1.5 times the limit. They were unfit and some of them couldn’t complete a 2 KM trial run. The decision taken 6 months back overruled the set criteria for fitness. You will suffer defeats if the fitness is like that."
