The India vs England series is currently levelled 1-1 after the Indians beat the Poms by 106 in the 2nd Test match in Vizag. This has once again taken this series to many interesting upcoming scenarios that can make or break for both teams. It was the England team who came out on top in the 1st Test in Hyderabad where Tom Hartley and Ollie Pope took the game away from the Indians in the second innings after trailing behind in the first. The 2nd Test was however dominated by the hosts who were on top of the England team in the crucial moments of the game.

There were some great performances by the India batters in this series so far, but the main man in these two Test matches has been the pace bowling of Jasprit Bumrah. With already 15 wickets in the first two he is currently the highest wicket-taker in this series. Bumrah has shown why he is the most reliable bowler in the Indian team with his great variations and ability to bowl reverse swing. Even on these wickets which was not offering a lot of assistance for the pace bowlers, Bumrah has seemed to still look threatening on these tracks.

Bumrah might be rested for the 3rd Test

The next Test match will be happening in Rajkot at the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) stadium on 15th February. This will be a chance for both teams to take the lead and be in control of the series going into the future. However, there are reports suggesting that Jasprit Bumrah might be rested for the next game in the series. This might be a big risk if the management and staff choose to go through with this decision since Bumrah has been the main talisman of this bowling attack and he will be one of the key bowlers going into the Test match.

We don’t completely know whether Bumrah will be rested or not, but if they are going to do this, they will need to have some great plans for the future. Right now, none of the Indian pacers have looked that good on this wicket apart from him. The likes of Mohammed Siraj and Mukesh Kumar have not had the best of time with the ball so far in this series. There might be the case of giving Avesh Khan a chance in the playing eleven as well, who has shown some great performances in the white ball format already. Whatever Rahul Dravid and co have planned will still be a mystery and we will see on match day whether this will be successful or not.
