Know why Mohammed Siraj has been dropped and released by India during 2nd Test against England?

The Hyderabad-born speedster has been released for only the 2nd Test keeping in mind his workload, Avesh Khan has re-joined the squad and the former will again be available for selection in the third Test in Rajkot.

Team India has been hosting England for a 5-match Test series. The Rohit Sharma's side would like to bounce back after losing the 1st Test, they are currently playing the 2nd Test at Visakhapatnam and the hosts have won the toss and elected to bat first. Star pacer Mohammed Siraj has been dropped from the ongoing game. He has been replaced by Mukesh Kumar, Siraj was the star for India in the 2nd Test against South Africa picking 6 wickets.  

He has been playing cricket since the Asia Cup and has not been resting since then, in a media release the Indian Cricket Board has announced that the Hyderabad-born speedster has been released for only the 2nd Test keeping in mind his workload, Avesh Khan has re-joined the squad and the former will again be available for selection in the third Test in Rajkot. 

Rajat Patidar was handed his first Test cap by cricketer-turned-analyst Zaheer Khan. Patidar, who made the squad in the absence of Virat Kohli for the first two Tests, left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav replacing Ravindra Jadeja.

The statement said, "Mr Mohd. Siraj has been released from the India squad for the second Test against England in Vizag. The decision was taken keeping in mind the duration of the series and the amount of cricket he has played in recent times. He will be available for selection for the third Test in Rajkot. Avesh Khan has re-joined the team for the 2nd Test." 

England has also made two changes with one of them being a forced one Jack Leech has been ruled out and has been replaced by Shoaib Bashir and James Anderson has been brought back. The 41-year-old has been one of the finest pacers of all time and is just 9 wickets away from 700 Test wickets. 

The hosts have lost two wickets with Rohit and Shubman Gill back in the dugout and Yashasvi Jaiswal, has scored his second fifty of the series and India is nearing the hundred run mark.
