Sachin Tendulkar is arguably the greatest cricketer of all time. The Master Blaster is the highest run scorer in the international cricket. He busted a fake video created using Deepfake stating that his daughter Sara earned money through online video games. In a highly worded statement on social media, the former India captain referred to the video, which was most likely created by AI and featured Sachin describing how a new software had enabled his daughter to earn easy money.

The video also shows Sachin discussing the application's positives, stating he had no idea making money could be so simple. Sachin found the film "disturbing" and claimed it was a misuse of technology. The Tendulkar family has already fallen victim to internet fake accounts.

Sara Tendulkar used Instagram in November of last year to expose phoney Twitter accounts that were disseminating false information about her identity. Previously, in 2018, a 39-year-old Mumbai engineer was arrested for allegedly creating a fake Twitter account for Sara. Tendulkar had lodged an official complaint back then.

It is disturbing to see rampant misuse of technology: Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin wrote," These videos are fake. It is disturbing to see rampant misuse of technology. Request everyone to report videos, ads & apps like these in large numbers. Social Media platforms need to be alert and responsive to complaints. Swift action from their end is crucial to stopping the spread of misinformation and deepfakes."

In November last year, Sara Tendulkar took to Instagram to call out fake Twitter accounts, " Social media is a wonderful space for all of us to share our joys, sorrows and daily activities. However, it is disconcerting to see the misuse of technology as it takes away from the truth and authenticity of the internet. I have come across some deepfake photos of me which are far from reality. A few accounts on Twitter have been created with the intent to impersonate me and mislead people. I do not have an account on Twitter, and I hope Twitter looks into such accounts and suspends them."
