India’s tour of South Africa is set to begin in 9 days and the selectors have picked a team for all three formats on Thursday. Rohit Sharma will be skipping the ODI and T20 formats just like Virat Kohli.

Suryakumar Yadav will be leading the T20 side, while KL Rahul has been named the ODI slipper. Team India will play 3 T20 and ODI games before playing two test matches. Rohit Sharma will continue to lead the test side which also included Virat Kohli but has excluded Rahane and Pujara.

In this article let us take a closer look at the three Indian players to be selected for all three formats during the tour.

After an amazing debut during the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament, Shreyas Iyer has made a huge impression. The right-handed batter will be making his test match return to the Indian Cricket Team after nearly 7 months. The talented batter from Mumbai will be seen playing in all three formats of the game during the South African tour.

#2. Ruturaj Gaikwad –

Considered one of the best openers around, Ruturaj Gaikwad showed his class during the recent 3rd T20 against Australia. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored his maiden century for India when he smashed 123 runs from 57 balls.

The man from Maharashtra is yet to play a test match but has been included as one of four openers for the two-match test series. Gaikwad is unlikely to get a game during the tour but in case of an unforeseen injury, the Indian Cricket Board is sending Gaikwad on the tour.

#3. Mukesh Kumar –

India’s latest pace bowling sensation Mukesh Kumar has soon become an integral part of the side. The 30-year-old had just made his test debut earlier this year against the West Indies. The man from Bengal has been a key bowler for India during the recent T20 series against Australia.

Mukesh Kumar just got married and it seems the lady luck is smiling on him already. India’s selectors have named the right-arm pacer in all three formats of the game for the South Africa tour.
