Former Manchester United star striker Cristiano Ronaldo is banned for two matches and handed over a fine of around INR 50 lakhs for an old incident with a young Everton fan earlier this year. On April 9, 2022, he had a dispute with a young fan and he smashed the boy’s phone because of anger after Manchester United suffered a loss to Everton by 1-0 at Goodison Park. Football Association has charged him with improper conduct and banned him for two games.

Ronaldo will be leaving Manchester United immediately “by mutual agreement,” announcing his exit less than a week after he criticized management in an interview and charged the club with betraying him. In a conversation with the popular British broadcast Piers Morgan, Ronaldo talked about the Man United management and revealed how his personal hardships were ignored, he also talked about the club’s manager Erik ten Hag, and tell how he didn’t like playing under him.

He is free to join another club immediately after leaving Old Trafford and will not have to wait until the January transfer window. For now, Ronaldo will be seen playing for his country Portugal in the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

‘It is never easy to deal with emotions’: Cristiano Ronaldo

The 37-year-old  admitted and apologized for his improper behavior with a fan and posted an apology on Instagram. He said it’s always difficult to deal with emotions and difficulties and sometimes things can be out of control. Ronaldo also invited the young fan to watch a game at Old Trafford as an apology to the boy.

“It’s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing. Nevertheless, we always have to be respectful, and patient and set an example for all the youngsters who love the beautiful game. I would like to apologize for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair play and sportsmanship.” Ronaldo said.
