In the 70th match of Indian Premier League 2023, Gujarat Titans beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 6 wickets at M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru. With this victory, GT knocked RCB out of the ongoing IPL as Mumbai Indians made it to the top 4. Notably, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli both scored a magnificent century for their team but Gill ended up winning the game.

Earlier, after winning the toss, GT skipper Hardik Pandya opted to bowl first. His decision didn't go well with the team as opener Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis added 61 runs for the first wicket. Faf, in his innings, scored 28 runs off 19 balls with the help of five boundaries. However, his departure opened the floodgates for RCB as they lost three wickets in no time.

Soon, they were crumbling at 85 runs by losing three wickets. Mahipal Lomror and Glen Maxwell also lost their wickets in quick succession. However, after their departure, Kohli, along with Michael Bracewell and Anuj Rawat, helped RCB to post a massive total of 197/5 in 20 overs. Bracewell, in his innings, scored 26 runs off 16 balls, while Anuj scored 23 runs off 15 balls with the help of a boundary and a six.

Shubman Gill and Vijay Shankar won for GT

Chasing 198, Gujarat Titans got a shaky start as Mohammed Siraj dismissed wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha for 12 runs off 14 balls. However, his dismissal didn't stop Shubman Gill and Vijay Shankar from hammering RCB bowlers. Shankar and Gill added 123 runs for the second wicket. Shankar, in his innings, scored 53 runs off 35 balls with the help of seven boundaries and two sixes.

After his departure, GT sent Dasun Shanaka as number four, but he failed to make an impact. He was dismissed by Harshal Patel for a three-ball duck. After his departure, Gill, along with David Miller and Rahul Tewatia, finished the work. Gill, in his magnificent century, scored 104 runs off 52 balls with the help of five boundaries and eight maximums. Now, Chennai Super Kings will take on Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1, while Mumbai Indians will face Lucknow Super Giants in Eliminator in Chennai.
