Shubman Gill has been in great form in the IPL 2023. The right hander scored a scintillating 101 off 58 balls with 13 fours and one six against SRH on Monday. The 23-year-old played some outstanding shots right through his innings and floored the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling lineup. Sai Sudharsan also made an impressive comeback into the Gujarat Titans side. The Tamil Nadu batter scored an entertaining 47 off 36 balls with six fours and one six.

The duo put on a 147-run partnership that solidified GT's position in the match. After Gill reached his century, he earned some precious words of appreciation from Virat Kohli. Kohli took to Instagram and wrote:

'There is potential and then there is Gill. Go on and lead the next generation. God Bless you."

Gill has had a wonderful record in IPL 2023. He has scored 576 runs from 13 matches at an average of 48 and a strike rate of 146.19.

The man from Punjab has scored four fifties as well this season, GT beat SRH by 34 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium at Ahmedabad and became the first team in IPL 2023 to qualify for the playoffs. After Sudharsan departed when he was caught by T Natarajan off Marco Jansen and Gill fell to Bhuvneshwar Kumar trying to up the ante, GT could not get the finish that they wanted.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar stamped his name among the wickets as he picked up 5-30 in four overs and also inflicted a run out. From 147-2, GT came crashing down to 188-9 in their 20 overs. It was a collapse like no other. In the second innings, the SRH batters could not get going at all as the GT bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals. Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma picked up eight wickets between them.

The SRH batters could not form partnerships to overhaul a strong total. They kept losing wickets in clusters. In a must win game, they crumbled like nine pins. Henrich Klassen saved SRH the blushes as his entertaining 64 off 44 balls with four fours and three sixes reduced SRH's margin of defeat to 34 runs. GT, with this big win, have made it to the playoffs of IPL 2023.
