Manchester City’s star footballer Erling Haaland recently signed the biggest boot deal with a sportswear company named Nike at a whopping amount of INR 204 crores. The brand confirmed the deal as they released a statement that says, "His record-breaking scoring has put a stamp on the future of the game, and makes him the heir to No 9 — the next-generation striker."
However, according to Daily Mail, the 22-year-old star striker also earns around INR 9 crores per week which is paid by Manchester City’s employers to him. Haaland has become a goal machine these days as he has now scored 44 goals for City and recently scored two goals against Southampton. He smashed a brilliant bicycle kick and a header to score 2 goals against them.
However, Manchester City's manager Pep Guardiola was really impressed with Haaland's second goal and ended up comparing him with the legendary footballers Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
“We have lived two incredible decades with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, but he is on that level. It is not easy to pick the ball up in the sky and put it on the grass. You can’t imagine at his height he has this ability. Exceptional goal. The first half was not our best level but he changed the game.” Guardiola told BBC on Saturday.
We focus now on our team: Thomas Tuchel
Meanwhile, Manchester City are set to face Bayern Munich on Wednesday, April 12 and Muncih's coach Thomas Tuchel recently revealed how he will stop Haaland to score goals. However, when he was asked about whether he will use his experience while he was coaching Chelsea and they defeated Manchester City, he said that they will focus on their team only.
"I’ve had the pleasure of talking to Johan Cruyff who told me about a forward they could never control with Barca until they stopped marking him and then he stopped scoring goals. We won’t do that tomorrow though."
“That would feel very awkward for me to do this. We focus now on our team. I would have wished for some more weeks and months to understand our team better but we don’t have it and no problem. We’re excited and hopefully, it brings out the best in us.
