Australia and Tunisia clashed against each other in a Group D encounter on November 26, Saturday. Australia are delighted to make a comeback after suffering an embarrassing defeat against France in their first match by 1-4.

Australian striker Mitchell Duke provided an early lead in the 23rd minute of the match when the star player capitalized on a corner and eventually hurried the ball past the Tunisia goalkeeper with a fabulous header. However, it was Tunisia who created more opportunities and eventually failed to make all of them count, while the Australian team maintained the accuracy with their shots throughout the match.

Tunisia dominated the team right throughout the game in terms of accuracy and dominance. Although they failed to score even a single goal, eventually letting Australia take home the much-needed 3 points.

Australia keeps their hopes alive in the World Cup

As things stand, the Mathew Ryan-led team are well alive in the race to make it through to the Round of 16 stage and it comes with their hard-fought win against Tunisia, given that it was the latter who held possession for the most part of the game

France are currently at the no.1 spot in the Group D rankings while Australia stands second to them and the two teams are nearly qualified for the 16-men knockout round, as Tunisia are yet to taste their first win of the multinational tournament.

Australia’s next clash would be against Denmark and they would hope to carry on with the momentum and take the win. However, it might not be easy given Denmark’s dominance and they are current favorites to win the match against the Australians.

Graham Arnold’s men will have to keep their hopes high if they want to stay in the race amidst tough competition from all the other teams in the group. Tunisia, on the other hand, will be playing for their pride and would hope to clinch a win in their next game against France.
