The four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are clashing against the defending Champions Gujarat Titanss (GT) in the final match of the ongoing 16th edition of the Indian Premier League at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday, May 29. However, the contest was set to take place on Sunday, May 28, but it got washed out due to heavy rain.

Talking about the match, asked to bat first, GT added 62 runs here without losing any wickets. Both their batters got one life each. However, the pair of Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill were determined to take charge, but CSK skipper MS Dhoni put his wicket-taker bowler Ravindra Jadeja on the attack after the powerplay and on the last ball of his very first over, Jadeja made Gill miss a ball and Dhoni did the rest of the work by immediately scattering the bails.

Dhoni was confident that he had given CSK the first success as Gill was out of the crease a few inches and could not return. Although the umpire sent the decision to the third umpire and it became clear to the camera that Dhoni was not at all wrong here. He completed this stump in just 0.12 seconds. Dhoni’s quick work behind the wickets surprised even an informed batsman like Gill who remained out of the crease.

Earlier, Gill got a lifeline when CSK pacer Deepak Chahar, positioned at short fine leg, dropped a simple catch off Tushar Deshpande’s bowling. At that time, Gill was playing only at 3 runs. After this, it seemed that Gill, who proved to be dreadful after getting life against Mumbai Indians (MI), would do the same thing even today and did as he scored 39 runs off just 20 bills which included 7 fours, and also added 67 runs in 7 overs with Saha.
