Ahead of the finals of Indian Premier League 2023, Chennai Super Kings reached Ahmedabad to face Gujarat Titans. Ahead of the final encounter, star CSK allrounder Deepak Chahar revealed his interesting interaction with CSK skipper MS Dhoni. Chahar, who proposed to his wife Jaya Chahar during the IPL game in 2021, revealed that Dhoni decided to do it before the playoffs.

In a recent interview with Breakfast with Champions, Chahar revealed that Dhoni asked him to propose before playoffs so that he can be well prepared for the knockouts. He said, "I wanted to propose to her after the Final, but MS Dhoni told me to do it before the Qualifiers so I can maintain my focus on the matches."

Notably, a few days ago, he also mentioned the same thing on the Kapil Sharma show. On the show, he was accompanied by his wife Jaya, ace commentator Aakash Chopra and his wife and Star Indian batter Suresh Raina and his wife. In the hilarious episode, Kapil Sharma, along with Chahar, pulled the legs of Raina.

"There is no pressure on anyone", says Deepak Chahar

Deepak Chahar also opened up on the team environment ahead of the finals versus Gujarat Titans. He said, that everyone in the team has the freedom to do anything they want, which is what makes CSK a successful team. The 30-year-old also acknowledged MS Dhoni's involvement in assisting the youngsters in integrating well with the rest of the team.

He said, “The ambience is different. Like, everything is optional here. No one will say anything to you. No one will say ‘You go to practice or you go to the gym’. You are a professional cricketer. It’s your responsibility to see what’s best for you. You can practice if you want. Or do it tomorrow or don’t do it at all. You can rest if you want.

"However, you will have to perform on the ground. Everybody knows that. Nobody will blame you even if you lose the match. Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) doesn’t say anything either. There is no pressure on anyone,” Chahar stated in the eighth season of Breakfast with Champions.
