In the eighth game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Shikhar Dhawan-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) beat Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals (RR). The nail-biting encounter was decided in the last over as the Royals failed to chase 198 runs. Earlier, Punjab Kings skipper Shikhar Dhawan hammered a brilliant half-century and helped his team to post a hefty total of 197/4 in 20 overs.

However, after the game RR skipper, Sanju Samson made a hilarious post on social media that took the internet on fire. Samson in his post tagged Dhawan and asked why their match have such close results. "Paaji, har baar itne tight matches kyun," Samson captioned the post. Notably, in the last five games between RR and PBKS, the result came on eighter the last ball or the last over.

Meanwhile, talking about yesterday’s game it was a run-fest and a delight for the audience. After being asked to bat first Punjab rode on the half-centuries from Prabhsimran Singh and Shikhar Dhawan. The opening pair added 90 runs in nine overs and helped Punjab Kings to post a massive total. Prabhsimran in his innings scored 60 runs off 34 balls before getting dismissed by Jason Holder.

On the other hand, Dhawan scored an unbeaten 86 runs off 56 balls with the help of nine boundaries and three sixes. Apart from them wicketkeeper batter Jitesh Sharma also added 27 runs in 16 balls. For Rajasthan Holder shined with the ball as he clinched two wickets while Ashwin and Chahal took one wicket each.

Shimron Hetmyer failed to win the game for RR

Chasing 198 Rajasthan Royals didn’t start well as In four overs they lost both of its openers. Latter Sanju Samson helped RR get back in the game With his 42 off 25 but Devdutt Padikkal's 26-ball 21 cost them the game in the middle overs. Till the 15th over Punjab was comfortably looking to win the game before Shimron Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurel added 61 runs.

Hetmyer (36 off 18) and Jurel (32* off 15) gave RR hope for an unlikely victory, but their efforts fell short. Sam Curran successfully held off 16 runs in the final over to help his team win by five runs. In the IPL 2023, PBKS has won both of its games while RR has only one victory from two games. Meanwhile, fans react to Sanju Samson’s post and call the game El Classico of IPL.
