The Chairman of the T10 Sports League Shaji Mulk will approach former India captain, MS Dhoni, to play for the Abu Dhabi T10 League. Dhoni announced his retirement from the Test format on 30 December 2014 and stepped down as captain of T20Is and ODIs in 2017. On 15 August 2020, Dhoni retired from all forms of international cricket and continues to play in the Indian T20 League.

Dhoni is retired as one of India's most successful captains, having captained the team for decades and winning three ICC titles. Dhoni will lead Chennai again in the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league. Chennai won the league title four times under Dhoni’s captaincy.

Fans like to wait desperately for Indian T20 League as they get to see Dhoni playing in it. However, they will not see any more of Dhoni's brilliance at the international level. But there are some possibilities that the wicketkeeper-batter might be seen playing in the T10 League.

‘Dhoni has a lot of influence on T10’- Shaji Mulk

Mulk said that Dhoni advised them about the league strategies before the start of this T10 tournament. He also said that he will be approaching Dhoni for Abu Dhabi T10 League.

"Dhoni has a lot of influence on T10. He advised us before the ahead of the league. As he retires, we will surely approach him," T10 league Chairman Shaji Mulk was quoted as saying.

Season 6 of the Abu Dhabi T10 League includes some big players like  Dwayne Bravo, Alex Hales, Suresh Raina, David Miller, Wanindu Hasaranga, Kieron Pollard, and Eoin Morgan.

Further talking about the more players playing in the league, "BCCI regulations allow entry of retired players into the league. Big names like Robin Uthappa will be playing next year. Players like Suresh Raina have already been part of the league. Many Indian players are already part of it and many are in touch with us all we need is BCCI permission."
