Indian skipper Rohit Sharma praised the star Australian pacer Mitchell Starc and pacer spearhead of Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi. Rohit acknowledged the fast and threatening bowling of both Starc and Shaheen in international cricket.

He was asked to choose one bowler between the Aussie veteran and the young Pakistan star. Replying to the question, Sharma admitted that it’s hard to pick one bowler between both the pace bowling superstars. He considered both of them as dangers at the highest level of the game, especially in major international tournaments.

"It's a tough one, honestly. I would prefer both actually," said Rohit in a video reel posted by the cricket’s governing body on their official Instagram handle.

"None. Both are quality, quite threatening with the new ball and can swing the ball quite fast. So, I would say none,” he added later.

Notably, the 36-year-old will be in action against Shaheen Afridi in the first match of Team India during the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. The Men in Blue will be locking horns with the arch-rivals Pakistan in their campaign opener during the continental tournament.

Following that, Rohit will be facing the star Aussie pacer Mitchell Starc in India’s first match of their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign, against the five-time World Cup champions, Australia.

Currently, India, in the absence of their regular skipper Rohit Sharma, is playing in the five-match T20I series against West Indies. After four matches in the series, they have levelled it by 2-2 with two consecutive wins in the third and fourth ODI. Now, both teams are locking horns in the series and the fifth T20I of the five-match series at the Central Broward Stadium in Florida.

Following the conclusion of the West Indies, the second-string Team India, under the captaincy of stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah, will be playing in the three-match T20I series against Ireland.
