Former Argentina footballer and Lionel Messi’s teammate Sergio Aguero recently might have leaked a private chat that contained information about Messi’s next club. The former Manchester City striker hinted that La Pulga might return to his boyhood Argentine club Newell in a recent interview.

“He is seriously considering the possibility of playing for Newell’s,” Aguero recently said, as cited by UOL.

It is being heard that the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner will not renew his contract with PSG in the upcoming summer. Meanwhile, there were rumours that the star footballer might return to Barcelona. However, in response to Aguero’s statement, Messi's other former teammate, Maxi Rodriguez said Aguero is always up to some mischief as he can’t keep himself quiet.

”Kun is Kun. He can’t keep quiet”, Rodriguez said.

“We will see. It is hard to talk about this because then a giant ball of rumours is made. Let’s wait and see what happens, we will not get ahead of the facts”, he further added.

Lionel Messi who is 30 per cent of what he was at Barça: Dominique Grimault

The legendary footballer has scored 11 goals and assisted 10 times in 19 games in the ongoing season for PSG. Messi also shocked the world as he scored a last-minute free-kick to rescue the Paris side from a disappointing result in their last Ligue 1 game against Lille.

L'Equipe journalist Dominique Grimault recently criticized the seven-time Ballon d’Or for his lack of effort and called the Argentine a "walker." He added that it would be better for PSG's future if they let Messi go after the contract gets over

“If there is an elimination , PSG will retain neither Neymar nor Messi. I also think must put Mbappé at the heart of the Parisian project. Lionel Messi is 30 per cent of what he was there a few years with FC Barcelona."

“When you see a 35-year-old Benzema and 37-year-old Modric who invest so much in a game and you see Lionel Messi who is 30 per cent of what he was at Barça a few years ago. He walks; he’s a walker.”
