The veteran bowler of the Indian team Jasprit Bumrah is out of action since September last year. He could not even get into the 20-20 World Cup 2022 squad. But he might make a comeback soon as his successful back surgery has been done in Christchurch, New Zealand. It may take a maximum of 6 months for him to recover. He will be available to bowl again in the nets in August.

His return is also important because the upcoming 50-over World Cup matches are to be played in India in October-November. The Men in Blue are waiting for the World Cup trophy since 2011. According to the report of Cricbuzz, New Zealand's well-known orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Rowan Schouten performed his surgery.

Earlier, he has treated many popular cricketers like James Pattinson, Jason Behrendorff, and even England fast bowler Jofra Archer. However, no statement has come from the Indian Cricket Board regarding the return of Bumrah.

Jasprit Bumrah missed many major tournaments in 2022

Jasprit Bumrah will not be able to play in the Asia Cup to be held in September due to surgery. If the Indian team reaches the final of the Test Championship, then Bumrah will be missing that as well. The Test Championship final is set to be played at the Oval in England from June 7. Australia has already qualified for the finals. If Team India defeats the Kangaroo team in the fourth Test starting on March 9, then they will secure their place in the title match.

The Indian T20 League’s team Mumbai will also miss his services in the upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League. Mumbai is looking to make a comeback after having a disastrous tournament last year. The five-time Champions failed to make it to the playoffs of the event and finished last in the points table. Mumbai fans will also miss the opportunity to see a deadly combo of English pacer Jofra Archer and Jasprit Bumrah.
