'I won't play for..' - Mohammed Amir discloses his plans after getting British Passport in 2024

The former Pakistani bowler Mohammad Amir is scheduled to obtain a British passport in 2024. In the year 2016, the famous pacer married a lawyer and British citizen Narjis Khan. The Pakistan cricketer moved to England in 2020, and he will now get his British passport in just one more year.

It should be noted that Pakistan players cannot play in the Indian Premier League, although Amir's British passport may allow him to. Another important concern, though, is whether the bowler is actually willing to play in the lucrative Indian league.

Amir told ARY News, "I have one year. I don't know what would be the scenario. I always move step by step. I don't know where I will be after a year. Nobody knows the future. When I get the passport, I will definitely avail the best opportunity I get."

The Pakistani players were part of IPL in the inaugural season in 2008 but the deteriorating political ties between the two nations saw India banning the participation. However, the Pakistani pacer made it clear that he would not be playing international cricket for England.

"I won't play for England. I have already played international cricket, whatever I had to play, for Pakistan," he said.

Amir had already stated his delight at the prospect of maybe representing Pakistan once more. The pacer ended his international career in 2020 after complaining about the "shabby" treatment he claimed to have received from the management at the time.

"If Allah wills, I will play for Pakistan again. But I would like to play and perform well in PSL," Amir had said after Ramiz Raja, the former PCB chief was shown the exit door by the new government in Pakistan.

In the recently concluded PSL, Amir looked in great form playing for his franchise, Karachi Kings. In the seven outings that he had for the franchise, he took nine wickets with an economy of 8.07 which is quite impressive considering that he bowls in tough phases of the match.
