India dominate Day 1

India is facing England in the 3rd Test in Rajkot. The Day 1 has ended with the home side having the advantage despite losing early wickets. The partnership between Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja helped the side to score past 300 run mark. The Men in Blue won the toss and elected to bat first. 

The home side lost three wickets for 33 runs in the 1st session with Mark Wood picking two wickets of Shubman Gill and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. The two batter were out cheaply while the former was dismissed for a duck. From there skipper Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja stitched a partnership 204 runs for the 4th wicket. The former scored his 11 Test century and 47 overall across formats. He has been searching for runs and finally got one when his team needed him the most. 

Jadeja who came in a diffcult situation at No.5 played another brilliant innings. As the veteran all-rounder scored his 4th Test hundred. The batter gave valuable support to the 36-year-old batter, he missed the 2nd Test due to an injury but he played a knock of 87 runs and missed a hundred but this time he made sure to reach the three figures mark in his home ground, Rajkot. The batter reached his hundred in 198 deliveries. 

Jadeja unbeaten at end of Day 1 

Rohit's side is now in a dominant situation with the game is almost towards the end. From 33/3 they are now 326/5 with Jaddu sitll in the crease. The team India skipper was back in the pavilion after scoring 131 runs off 196 ball, smashing 14 fours and 3 sixes. Debutant Safaraz Khan has been brilliant as the batter took the spinners and scored quickly.

The 26-year-old scored 62 runs off 66 deliveries, but the batter was unfortunately run-out. The 35-year-old all-rounder also scored 3000 runs in the longest format of the game. The batter is unbeaten at the end of the innings for 110 runs. For England Wood has been the pick of the bowlers as he picked three of the 5 wickets that have gone.
