Indian cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid has provided a significant update regarding Virat Kohli's potential comeback to the squad for the remaining three Test matches against England in the ongoing five-match series. Kohli had withdrawn from the first two matches citing 'personal reasons', leading to speculation about his possible return with the series currently tied at 1-1.

After India's victory in the second Test, Dravid was questioned by reporters about Kohli's status. The legendary India batter responded by suggesting that the selectors would be the appropriate individuals to address the inquiry. However, Dravid indicated that team selection would occur in the coming days, and the team management would communicate with the star batsman to determine the future course of action.

"I think it's best to ask the selectors. I am sure they are the best people to answer ahead of the team selection for the next three Tests. We will get to that. I am sure there will be selection over the next few days. We will connect with him and find out," Rahul Dravid said during post-match press conference.

All I know is he is fine: AB de Villiers

On the same note, former teammate of Virat Kohli from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), AB de Villiers disclosed the cause for his absence from the cricket field. The former South African batter said that Virat Kohli is fine and also that he is taking some time off with his family, which is why he is missing the first two Test matches.

However, de Villiers refused to confirm anything further and eagerly anticipated Kohli's return but the former RCB player did say that Virat is expecting the birth of his second child and its family time as it is more important at the moment. AB also said that one should not be judging him with this decision as he has made a right decision.

"Yes, his second child is on the way. Yes, it's family time and things are important to him. If you are not true and genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people's priority is family. You can't judge Virat for that. Yes, we miss him, but he has made the right decision," revealed AB de Villiers on his YouTube channel as per NDTV Sports.
