The England team have failed to win the 2nd Test match of the India vs England series to extend their lead. This was more or less a disappointing performance from the visitors who did not really look like the dominating side we saw in the previous game. The first innings saw the Indians coming out on top completely, where a Yashasavi Jaiswal double century was enough to get the hosts to a total close to 400 and the Jasprit Bumrah spell was the kryptonite which led to the England batters getting bowled out for 253 giving an early lead to the Indians.

In the 2nd innings, we did see a few glimpses of brilliance from the England side, but the Indian Cricket team had already got away with the game after setting a huge target of 399 for the England batters to chase down where they failed miserably. There was no England batter in the whole game who managed to get a 50+ score except for Zack Crawley, who was playing his natural game along with a bit of a sensible plan as well. Crawley's 76 in the first innings and 73 in the second were the only great highlights for the England team.

Ben Stokes's sour response to Crawley's dismissal

The Zack Crawley dismissal was slightly surprising for the fans where the batter faced a skiddy deliver from Kuldeep Yadav which struck his pads. Umpire Marais Erasmus signalled it was not out and Rohit Sharma went on to use the DRS to challenge the decision. All the England players thought that the ball was either going down the leg or pitch outside the leg stump, but it seemed to have gone onto crash into the leg stump. This evidently did not sit right with the England team and this led skipper Ben Stokes to blame the technology for the dismissal.

This accusation from Stokes caused a lot of fans on social media to troll the 2019 World Cup winner for this statement. This might be sign of frustration after losing the game, but there are better ways of dealing with situations like this than playing the blame game. In the end, the Indians were the better side in the match who had got the better of England in crucial stages of the game. This statement by the England captain is something that will be a thing that will cause a lot of problems in the future as well. This might have ruined the credibility of Stokes already as a skipper and he will have to make a statement on the field in the upcoming three games.
