On the 1st day of the 3rd Test between India and England, Sarfaraz Khan's amazing innings came to an anticlimactic end when he was run out after a disastrous mix-up with Ravindra Jadeja. With Jadeja batting on 99, this infuriated India captain Rohit Sharma, who let his irritation show by tossing his cap off in response to the confusion between the two players. Jadeja had decided to send his companion back after calling for a run. By then, it was too late because England had made the breakthrough thanks to Mark Wood's direct throw-in.

As it was Sarfaraz Khan's debut innings, it will take a while for him to forget the disaster that happened to him during the first match. He scored 62 runs off 66 balls and had the chance to score a century on Test debut. Moreover, when he came to bat, it didn't look like he would play such an attacking and confident inning.

Watch the video below:

As he scored a boundary off Rehman Ahmed's ball, his nervousness broke down and his real game came in. The best part about Sarfaraz's innings was the way he managed to pull off sweeps on Joe Root's balls. That showed the level of confidence he had within himself in his debut match. Moreover, he reached his half-century in just 48 balls.

India end their day 1 on 326-5 against England

India was lucky enough to win the toss on the flat track of Rajkot. Thus, after winning the toss, Rohit Sharma decided to bat first. The decision seemed to be challenging at first as India was reduced to 33/3 in the first half of the play. However, after Ravindra Jadeja came into the attack, the game's scenario changed. Sharma and Jadeja started playing responsibly and gave India much-needed stability.

With Rohit's 131 runs off 196 balls and Jadeja's 110 runs off 212 balls, India reached a massive score of 326 runs at the loss of just five wickets. Mark Wood was the hero of England as he gave the team some important breakthroughs and took three wickets at an economy of 4.10. As Dhruv Jurel is yet to come, if India manages to continue the momentum, they might go past 450 runs. This will put pressure on the England batters and they might make mistakes in their innings. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see the progress of the match.
